In our lab we have validated three mark leading commercial multiplex panels, starting with the BD MAX Enteric Assays, trough SeeGene Allplex and BioFire Gastroenteritis FilmArray. A few months ago we started the evaluation of QIAstat GI Assay Panel that was able to fuse the best experience parts of all three other systems that we tested:
- the sensitivity of the BD MAX
- the robustness of Allplex
- the rapidness of the FilmArray

The validation of #QIAstat Respiratory Panel went excellent! The test cartridge has 2 sample ports and can accommodate UTM and direct swab. We validated direct swab assay and got excellent performance. This is going to be a real competitor to #FilmArray. I am happy that microbiology is moving to syndromic testing which goes closer and closer to point of care.
